TPMS Systems

The DW has asked me what I want from Santa, and a TPMS is on the top of my list. Reading the forums all the brands look to have a love it or hate it comment. Came across a brand a trucker suggested, anyone have any experience with these guys Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems, TPMS - Home ?

Suggestions appreciated on your preferred brand and good/bad experience. Thanks

Looks very similar to TST's TPMS.

Hi Reelgator,
TPMS technology is a commodity. They all work. Consider reading the manufacturer's web site and buy the system that works the way you think and you are comfortable with. I use the Pressure Pro System since 05. It works as advertised and I would make the same purchase again. It has saved me 2 times. Both were on the toad.

I second what Gary said and Pressure Pro works with SilverLeaf Dash display.

I like the display on the TireMinder since you can set it up to "look" like your configuration. It has high temperature warning and allows you to set the desired pressure for each tire you monitor.

The WASP website seems to indicate their monitor will only read six wheels; if you pull a toad, it would not read the toad wheels. I would suggest you purchase a system that's expandable to allow monitoring your toad, too!

They also have one which will read 22 tires.....its right above the 6 tire unit.

That monitor from Wasp looks to be identical to my monitor from TST. Both companies probably buy the same monitor from the same supplier.

Yes, it does BUT if you have the VMSpc you have to buy the new adapter, you can't just buy the PP system and add it to that Silverleaf system

My TST is great (almost 3 years on two RVs now). I would recommend only the simpler, non flow-through caps. The flow-through sensors initially failed me (and a friend of mine) so many times that I had to abandon them and go with the cap style that you have to remove when filling the tire. No big deal--you'd have to remove a valve cap if you had the flow-through ones anyway! I have them on my Jeep too and leave them there all the time.

In between RV trips, I move the TPMS monitor into my Jeep and can monitor the Jeep tires when I drive around town. I wish there was a way to tell the TST monitor to stop searching for the RV tires like you can tell it to stop searching for TOAD tires (when you are in the RV and not towing anything). Maybe TST will do this in a future model?
