TPO Membrane Roof Care
Does anyone in the forum have any info on the care of a TPO (thermoplastic polyolefins) roof membrane. All I can find is to wash it with a mild detergent. Any experience or suggestions?

The mfg recommendation that came with mine was Murphy Oil Soap. It did a good job but when a great job was necessary , I added a little Dawn dishwashing soap.

We've used Simple Green for 10 years & it gets it nice & clean. I've heard others use Spic n Span. For the stubborn mildew stains, a spray bottle with a bleach solution spot treats those. Rinse well & wear beach shoes because it gets slippery up there. Use the time up there washing to inspect all the seals.

I use gel-gloss rv wash on the entire coach including the roof. A word of caution, when I wash the roof, the sneekers that I wear I use solely for walking on the roof.I put them on at the top of the ladder while sitting on the rear edge of the roof, take my work boots, put them in a plastic bag. When done on roof,I sit at same spot and put my work boots back on,then go down ladder. The reason I do this is because the driveway oils transfer to the tpo, also because a pebble stuck to the bottom of your shoe can do damage. I wash my roof every time that I wash the coach, still looks new.

Cleaning it occasionally is the only care required for TPO, unless its damaged and needs repaired.
Of course you also want to keep the edge & penetration joints sealed with caulking or tape, but that applies regardless of the roof material. Dicor makes TPO compatible sealant and Eternabond works well on TPO.

I cleaned the BriteTek on our '02 DSDP with baby soap then when dry sprayed it with 303. Also did the vents, heat pump covers and skylights with 303. After 13 years the skylight was still original and showing a little fogging but no cracks. The Fantastic fan vent covers had been replaced with their double wall ones some years ago. The sewer vents were replaced after about 10 years.
