Angry Trace SW Series Inverter/Charger

We have a 2001 Monaco Executive with the Trace SW Inverter/Charger. Owners manual is 142 pages long. After the unit has been shut down for about a month the inverter will not come with the generator running, but if I start the engine it will then come on. Batteries were down, got the generator started, inverter will not come by pushing the red button, thought I was charging batteries but nothing got charged. Not in a storage space where I plug in. Thank you.

Have you checked all battery connections? Dirty or loose connections at battery and ground can create issues. Also would suggest you charge up batteries with a separate battery charger then take to an auto parts store to have them load tested. A couple of bad cells could also be causing issues.

the batteries charge without needing the inverter running, and the inverter has a low batt lockout that keeps it from running when the house batteries have too low of a voltage.

Sounds to me like it's working correctly but the house batteries need a good charge or replaced. test the specific gravity of the cells and post the results.
