Hey Hamshog - Howard,

Since this is a very "on topic" - topic...Could you please provide supporting documentation about the term for us all to learn from?

Like I said before - I didn't just make this stuff up.

Safe travels

Hey Scarab,

My facts don't come from websites on RVing. (You don't think we can't make up stuff on these sites that isn't true? ) Check most of the states DMV sites on personal and commercial vehicle operation. You'll find they discuss combinations of vehicles, including towing doubles and triples. They don't call towing two trailers "triples", nor do they call towing three trailers"quadruples". Talk with any professional driver worth his salt, and he'll tell you the same thing.
Thanks for questioning my "supporting documentation" though. Now others can educate themselves on proper terminology when discussing a combination of vehicles traveling down the road...

Regards and safe travels,
Howard

Sorry, off topic but we seen a diesel pusher flat towing a pickup truck, with a flat deck trailer hooked behind truck with a quad on it. On the I15 heading south in Utah. Not sure if he was legal or not.

X2 -

Howard, you are SPOT On with this information. Before getting on the road with my rig, 72 ft. long, I checked many states for their specific laws, etc. When it came to towing terminology, they were all the same regarding doubles and triples.

The ONLY places where I saw the terminology abused were on sites that were discussing RV's.

My nephew hauls doubles on the NYS Thruway that are over 110 feet long, two 53 foot trailers plus the tow truck. What I didn't realize is how far they can swing side to side when rolling. He hauls trucks for Byrnes Diary.

Actually the subject of combination legality seems to be producing a lot of comment and it seems like the time to make it it's own thread.

Any takers to start one and post a link here to where it's at?

I was hoping for a race car when I read MTI 29' Race Trailer.

Nice toys though for sure.
