I have around 1200 pounds tongue weight, I did it more for the ride then anything else. I have been pulling it as a dead hook (NY to FL and back, NY to Ma and back, NY to Ky and back, NY to St Louis and back) I have gotten tired of the rough roads and hope this smooths it out. I have self leveling air bags so ride hieght is not a problem just the stiffness because of the increase in pressure because of the weight on the back end.
Hitch was upgraded to 16,000 pounds and frame braced. Yes I know this does not change the towing capacity, just makes me feel better, I am way under 10,000 pounds, tongue weight is because of all the extra stuff in the front because of racing (tools, Pulleys for the blower, nuts and bolts, fittings, charger, air compressor, generator (I could get rid of this and use the generator in the bus, but on occasion may pull the trailer to the local track with the truck), five five gallon fuel jugs).

It definitely improves the ride. Also was a stress relief for me not worrying about tonque weight.

Sorry Glenn, when I read this post, I thought that this was what you have for a GCWR. Must be one heck of a frame system, 6,000# carrying capacity, plus 10,000 towing capacity!(single axle) Plus the weight of the Coach on it, What kind of rear axle is on your suspension? WOW!

Ride improvement is what I am looking for, not looking forward to the restrictions on backing up

Chassis manual is in the bus, has a double rear channel frame, New rear axle (brand name), forgotten the carrying capacity of the rear axle, but it is HUGE. The front axle is the weak point, wish it was heaver. When new the Gillig chassis was a 20,000 dollar upgrade.
I'm leaving for Denver today will not be back for a week, will get the specs for you when I return.

Backing up is not bad. Just have to drop the pins, other than that its no big deal

It did not start well, blow a hose off the turbo on the pickup, 15 minutes after leaving the house and had to unload the car from the trailer to run and get an new clamp, currently just inside the Indiana boarder

I have an Ex-Pro Stock Dodge Dakota that I run Top Sportsman in NHRA division 4 as well as a couple National events. I also race Super Comp on occasion. Ill be in Belle Rose Louisiana first weekend of June.
