I don't know where to buy on line, but I just purchased mine from the Allison dealer for $34.00 per gallon. I would think the shipping would make it cost prohibitive to order. Keith

You can order the Amsoil equivalent product online. See Amsoil

you can find your nearest Allison dealer/shop at this site:
Allison Locations
as mentioned, shipping gallons of heavy liquid is usually not economical when there are plenty of local sources. as for Amsoil, if your transmission is still under warranty, check with Allison before using an "equivilent" fluid.

I also purchased from a Allison Transmission service location. I'm not sure if it's countrywide, or just here in Pennsylvania, but it seems like just about all the Detroit Diesel service locations are also Allison certified shops and they all have Transynd and filters in their parts department

Be very careful about the pricing. Although Allison is the only source of Transynd, I found a $10 spread per gallon among the local dealers in the Dallas marketplace. I think some of the difference is the type of pricing that you can get. Here, anything less than $34 per gallon was supposed to be a "trade" price for those in the automotive business. I was able to take advantage of trade pricing with one dealership.

There sure are some price differences.
The other day I bought 3 gallons for just under $34 per gallon from one Allison service location, the other one here quoted me "between $45 and $50".
In Grand Junction CO until just after Thanksgiving then heading for AZ.

How many gallons are used to refill a 3000 series Allison trans and what is the oil change interval when using synthetic oil?
TIA!

I can't speak about the 3000 series, as I have a 1000 series. GM says the oil change interval for it is 50,000 miles. Kinda makes synthetic cost prohibitive.

Mine took 22 quarts to service. The manual indicated 19 quarts so mine may have been a few quarts low when I drained it. Keith

welltrue - but there are approved replacements that are TES-295 approved
From the Alason Web site http://www.allisontransmission.com/s...jsp?ThisPage=3
When seeking a fluid for your Allison transmission that is TES 295 approved do not fall to the claims of some companies that claim that their product is TES-295 approved. The statements infer that these products "are designed to meet", "are equivalent to", "meet or exceed", etc. When determining whether or not a fluid is TES-295 approved, look and/or ask for one of two things:
# The Allison TES-295 approval number
# The Allison Approved logo
TES 295 Approval Number Approved Marketer Product Brandname
AN-011001 Castrol Heavy Duty Lubricants TranSynd
AN-031002 BP Autran Syn 295
AN-031003 Cognis Corporation Emgard 2805
AN-031004 International Truck & Engine Company Fleetrite Synthetic ATF
AN-051005 ExxonMobil Lubricants and Petroleum Specialties Company Mobil Delvac Synthetic ATF
