Some folks have already done this but I can't find many photos. I'm starting the project in our 1997 Endeavor with a raised floor slideout. We already removed the sofa (ugly, faded, hate it) and we purchased a genuine synthetic leather (pleather) euro recliner and ottoman. The slidout floor is 20 inches in depth ... the old sofa extended into the coach beyond the raised floor. To accommodate the new euro recliner the slide will be extended about 20 inches. This will be about 10 inches beyond the old sofa (which was hung beyond the floor ... cantilevered). I will post pics as things progress. The plan is for a "ladder" substructure bolted and glued (construction adhesive) to the leading edge of the old raised floor. This will be topped with 3/4 inch cabinet grade plywood, glued and screwed to the original floor. Eventually, the coach will get Luxury Vinyl meeting the oak flooring in the kitchen (carpet will be trashed). After the initial flooring, the slide will receive the Luxury Vinyl ... to ensure seams/grout lines meet. Walls of slide will get oak trim at floorline. Here's the new recliner sitting on the old (narrow depth) slide floor.

I did the same thing on an American Eagle. Don't forget to get the stair nose trim to finish the job.

Also remove jack knife l shaped couch. Looked great when you sat on it for 15 min. But was terrible to watch TV for any time. Extended slide by 9.5". Used 2" x 10" and cover the hole slide area with 1/2" plywood which was liquid nailed and screwed to original floor. Put rollers on 2" x 10". Purchased 2 wall hugging recliners from Glastop in Pompano Beach, fl.

Here's the progress for today. Extension is added to original slide. 3/4" plywood is in place (construction adhesive and deck screws). Edge of new extension has "furniture glides" to support edge when slide is extended .... skims over carpet when slide is being extended. Done for now ... next phase is replacing carpet with luxury vinyl, trim with oak to match RV trim. Step guard trim (thanks Ernie) for edge. Forgot to mention ... before putting down the plywood I cut thru the carpet so I can pull it out from under the new slide when I install the vinyl flooring.

I bought it locally. Discontinued floor model .... about $400 with tax (chair and ottoman). It was a tight fit going thru door .... glad it was shrinkwrapped to compress everything a bit.

BTW, in one of the pics of the floor before the extension, the ugly grey blotchy flooring is 1/4" cement backer board that was installed in a prior project to stiffen the slide floor.

Also, for perspective, the floor slide width (side to side) is 74 inches. Fully reclined I fit with a bit extra (I'm 6'3"). Couldn't get comfy on the old sofa.

The middle of the slide is opposite the entry doorway. Forward opposite is a captains chair recliner in offwhite leather. Rearward (opposite the ottoman) is the offwhite leather chair at the dinette. With the slide in, the "hallway" is still pretty wide since this is a 20" single slide 1997 layout. Easily usable without extending the slide. Still straight thru hallway from center of driving area to center of fore/aft queen bed. This shot is from standing slightly to the right in the stairwell.

If you use the wood stairnose trim, and on your outside corners, you have to be really concious of when the slide is retracted, those edges are pretty nasty on your feet and ankles. How do I know this???
