We travel with an Am Staff, he is mistaken for a Pit Bull all the time. He is 13 years and very well behaved. In mu case it was the other way around. Once in Branson he was attached when he was tied up at the camp by a small dog. Sid our dog was asleep, I was outside with him reading a book when the attack happened. It suprised the both of us. Sid recovered and only took the other dog in his mouth and held him there until I took it from him. He could have easily crushed the small dog. If he would have hurt the other dog - then it would have been Pit Bull Kill Dog. The owner of the small dog was just leting it run free. She made no attempt to apologize for the incident. I know this is not the case in the incident of your post, but to condem a breed for the act of an incident like this is not fare for Sid. We fase this type of thing in several places we travel. And to this day he has never attacked another dog.

We travel with two small dogs. My youngest dog some times will act aggressive to larger dogs and I worry that a large dog will bite back. I keep her always with me and close. She has been bitten by a large dog two years ago, that did not help.
