I have taken custody of a 2 year old. We have an 09 Georgetown and want to travel in it with the child. This is new for us and we haven't been out with the RV since he came to our home. Any help on how others do this would be appreciated.

Strap him in the car seat and go, you will have seat belts on the couch or the jumper seat. The wonderful thing about traveling in a coach is you have the freedom to roam around and heat up bottles, sleep and relax with your children on the road.You wont have to look for places to change him, remember you are at your home away from home.

Any child passenger safety technician will work with you to determine best placement in your MH. If you were in Kansas I'd do it tonight! And yes, it's free.

Thanks to both for your help and suggestions. Not traveling is not an option.....we have been RV'ing for about 5years and we love it. We want him to learn to love it as well. So much to see and the education for him will be priceless. Now, next year, we have to focus on a diesel pusher with bunks! Now that is exciting!

Remember to ALWAYS Lock the Door... As for sleeping arrangements ... a foam doggy bed (new of course) on the floor works very well for a two year old.

We travel with an 8 and a 2 year old. We always use the couch seat belt and strap the car seat there. Our 2 year old loves sitting there because she can still see out the front and side windows. We never let her run loose while traveling. The only 2 issues we have encountered while traveling with her are 1) The switches in our coach are all located in low, easily accessible locations, so we need to come up with a solution to cover these up, 2) we have a gasser and the entry door has quite a drop where the stairs are and she seems to be attracted to the stairs and falls down them at least once a day. I'm in the process of building a stair cover so this won't happen anymore.
