Not a good defence. The compressor pumps the air to the dash vents and then the air is on its own.

You could also place a fan behind the drivers area to direct the roof ac towards the front.

Our dog loves the dash air/heater. As soon as we turn it on, he plops down in front of the DW's vents...

that is funny about the "dont run a/c when driving" It does not hurt a thing. The compressors are larger in most coachs just for that reason of pushing freon that distance.

Have you heard the "dont run your roof a/c when driving down the road?"
that is a bunch of crap too. It doesn't hurt the roof ac to run when going down the hwy.

Inverter,....shoot man that is what it is for, so that you can run 110 items for a short time without running the Gen.

If a tech tells you something that sounds fishy, find another tech and ask them as well.

good techs will all answer just about the same.

I should know, I'm a Tech and we fix so many things in our shop that get screwed up by other shops, and fix so many things that other shops dont have a clue how to fix and say they fixed it but actually did more harm than good. We fix things in our shop that other shops in the city cant fix so they bring it to use to fix and then we bill them and then they bill their customer.... hmmmm they should be just going to the right shop!!
Ask people your RVing with who they use and maybe who not to use.

You are all correct, "comfort is what its all about"

Dash AC works OK up to about 95 then we add the front roof AC. At 105 we add the second AC on the roof. At 115 we add the third and still sweat.

The HUGE front window and black paint was not made for the desert.

Yeah - one of the turn-off's against buying a new coach these days is that it seems everyone is going to so much black.

Another consideration is that your generator need to work under load for a few hours each month. If you normally hook up to shore power then your generator isn't getting enough work out unless you run it some going down the road with roof air. As they say use the generator or lose it. Besides you are only using from a 1/2 gal to a gal per hour which may offset your lost mileage by using dash air.

Also, consider how little you use the dash air on a motorhome compared to the dash air in your car? The compressor should last forever.
