Traveling with pets

Our male Wheaten is having a real hard time traveling in this MH. He loves to travel in the Jeep but this MH is really bothering him. I suspect the sound of the diesel motor and the generator going is the source of his anxiety. Maybe the idea that "the house is moving" is it I don't know but he was miserable yesterday.

We set them up with their seat belt harness we use while in the Jeep, the female did fine but my male was stressed out all day. He spent a good part of the day sitting on my wife's lap in the front seat panting and shaking away. At 55 lbs. he can be a bit much to have in your lap for hours. He was giving me the eye yesterday and I was fearful he would try and get in my lap. Buckled in further back in the MH he is worse. Very stressful with this going on yesterday and only added to my no sleep stress.

I think he would do much better in the toad with the window down head sticking out, it's not really an option besides the sound of the diesel and sight of the back of the MH may also trouble him. I'm not sure what to do for him, it sure creates a lot of stress for everyone.

Any advice from others would be helpful. The whole point of getting this MH was to travel with our dogs.

My dog was really stressed while driving. I got this all natural dog calm from petco. It's a liquid, use it as directed and my dog takes a little less that the recommended dosage. Give it to him at least a half an hour before going and put a bed beside your seat he will sleep comfy! Good luck!

I know most folks won't agree but our dogs like to travel in their secured crates. They get right in and go to sleep. Safe for them, safe for us, just like home. He may need that kind of security to travel comfortably.

We also got our dog a house , goes right in-between our seats and rests on the back seat. He does feel more secure than without it!
