Tricky Issue

I have a 2005 Eagle, we recently had a storm where we lost electric briefly.

Motorhome is kept indoors in a garage, always connected to shore power. I am preparing to leave for a trip this Wednesday so was out checking on it and discovered following issues:

Battery d/c will not light when compressed

lights not working in coach
Generator will not start
Coach will not start

System shows full charge
Inverter is showing green
Outlets within coach have power

Has anyone dealt with this?

Surely it's gotta be the transfer switch.. that's the first comp. in line with the outside to inside and inside to inside... Or a breaker.

Ok outlets are 110v, so they should work if plugged in to shore.

lights don't work and battery's show full. Check the battery cut off switch as you enter the coach it should be on your left side.

If that is not the problem check your 300amp fuses in the battery bay.

What 336muffin said...........your problems are on your 12 VDC side of the unit, not the AC side. your 12 vdc disconnect switch is ether not working(coil picking up) or the main big fuse is blown off the batteries not allowing 12 VDC power to power up the Coach. (Post #3)

Transfer switch should not affect the engine starting. I would check all the main engine fuses also. I would do as Dave said, power it all down and then see what happens as you bring it back up.

Transfer switch is for 120 volts. The OP has a 12 volt issue.

Since both house and start batteries are affected, I would trace out the negative cables, from the battery to there connection point. That may be the steel frame of the MH.

Look for loose bolt or rust around it.

Hope I helped.

Sound to me .......it is powered down
Might be faster to use a milti-meter and start at the batteries and check the aft-side of the main fuse..............

We found the issue, the wire that connects the chassis and house was loose and it appeared to be grounded.

We believe the grounding caused the power drain. Once we ensured everything was connected securely we were golden.

Charge seems to be holding, we successfully drove a 20 minute test run. Upon returning to garage we kept on trickle charge.

Thank you for all the info, we were referencing your suggestions throughout it all.

Looks like as of now trip is on, we are headed to mountain falls in North Carolina...anyone been?
