Tropi-cal Series M-398

Does anyone have an opinion on the quality of a 2006 Tropi-cal M-398 diesel pusher ? In todays market, how is a value initially determined ? Is it the low retail from NADA ?

Tough question. National RV built a pretty good coach, but the Tropical was a entry-priced DP and so used somewhat less than the best materials for cabinetry, flooring, etc. It's more upscale sister the Tradewinds has a better quality interior and such. That said, the Tropical is as well built as any in terms of workmanship.

So, depending on how you define "quality", its either just OK or excellent.

The National we had was a decent coach, and we have looked at severial others that all seemed to be decent quality. As far as owning a National they are like alot of others they are no longer just like Alfa, Country Coach, Safari, and so on, so as far as any tech support you will need to rely on the owners forums, and others. As far as what it's worth and NADA these are guide line prices, and if you are dealing with a trade in all bets are off. In these times coaches can be had on the lower end of the scale someware between W/sale and very low retail, but if you have a trade the same applies to yours as well. Good hunting

NADA is a decent referrence point but that's really all it is. I believe I read that for motor homes, the NADA values are nothing other than the original MSRP with a depreciation applied for each year (i.e. it has nothing to do with actual market value). Also with any vehicle, condition makes a huge difference so I think you really just have to look at it an assess the condition and see how it compares to other comparable models (comparing it just with other Tropi-cals is probably not that useful as you likely won't find enough to get a good idea of the value).
