TST Tire Pressure Monitor System

For those of you who have the TST TPMS, do you use the outer case which requires the special wrench to install and remove, but makes it more difficult for someone to steal? For those of you who don't, have you ever had one or more of the sensors stolen? I've always used them, but I'll admit that I'm a little lax in keeping the pressure precise--if it's within 2-3 pounds I leave it. It's a pain removing and replacing the sensors to add air.

If you run your pressures high (say 5 psi) over the chart then no problem. If you run right at the chart pressure for your weight then it's not doing the tire any good. Not saying it's going to blow out instantly, just the it's running in the safety margin.

Maybe you need to get the new, flow through sensors?

One of the first things I did was to remove and discard all the anti-theft cases and the little wrenches that come with them. I did find once though that when remove a cap, it just came apart instead of coming off the stem.

I returned my sensors for the fill through kind for that very reason. They were great in making that swap.

We have 10 of the TST 507 TPMS (Only using 6 right now) but find it no more difficult to use the little wrench to remove the cap than just unscrewing the cap itself. Tire pressure seems to stay up well and as long as pressure is OK (within 2 lbs on all 6 tires, sunny outside tire to cool inside tire) have had no need to remove to check pressure in over 6 months.
