Brand new TST 507 TPMS - flow through sensors won't fit on the front wheels due to interference with the wheel cover. Valve stem is tucked into a hole in the wheel cover. Air chuck can get in there, but not enough room for the couple inches of the TST sensor.

Rears are easy peasy - valve extensions come mount via a bracket to the center of the wheel hub. The TST sensors mount straight on with lots of room to spare.

Others with this problem and how resolved?

You could try a valve extender for the length you need.

Seems an extension would put the TST sensor out in harms way, no?

Mine have stuck " out in harms way " for three years now and haven't been harmed. :-)

I had the exact same problem. I called tst and ask them to send me the old style sensor.They sent me the old style which worked fine and I returned the flow thur. They sent me a return mailer so it didn,t cost me a dime. Good Luck!!

Yes, I was thinking that maybe I would ask for a swap. But I like the flow through feature. Decisions decisions... (-:

Do the old style require the tool to install/remove? If so, how does that work with the limited space - can one still readily get it on/off when the tire needs air?

Schrader Valve sells these as well as other style adapters

No tools required to install/remove by hand. Just screw them on. There is an allen wrench screw to lock in place to prevent theft if you want to lock them down. Just unscrew apply air. Try it if you don,t like them just send them back and keep the ones you have. No cost to you.

Thanks all for the great suggestions. I reviewed the problem with the TST folks at their vendor booth at the FMCA Western Region Rally this week. Decided to swap out for the non-flow through sensors on the front wheels. Removing the security cap makes it even smaller and a perfect fit. Will roll this way and see how it goes.

The TST folks were very helpful and knowing of their product.

Update:

The smaller ones fit, but were difficult to remove/install as the space was tight - doable but with high likelihood of dropping the sensor into the wheel cover when trying to get it on or off.

Then came the recent addition of a new set of tires with new valve stems. Now one has to remove the wheel cover to get the sensor on or off at all. But actually removing the wheel cover is less hassle than the previous situation.

Now looking to try with an L shaped extension...
