TURNING PROPANE Tank Totally OFF

NEED ASSIST PLEASE:
We recently purchased as 2nd owner a 2006 Damon Astoria / Pacific
Class A 36ft.
This is our 3rd RV and am really confused, as to why we are unable to TURN OFF COMPLETELY the Propane supply by using a manual hand valve device some where on the RV.
All we find are 2 electrical toggle switch's for Propane, ONE inside the coach above the entry door or the ONE toggle switch inside the waste cabinet in the basement.
No where do we seem or are able to locate an actual Valve for the Propane Tank that can be Hand Operated for an ON/OFF. Nothing to Manually Operate any Valve Apparatus for turning off the Propane Tank Itself.

AND YES we have a Manual, but that also does not discuss a PERMANENT OR MANUALLY OPERATED ON/OFF Valve for Propane !

What am I missing.

Called Thor/Damon and they say talk with a dealer.
Great Online Support ....... NOT

Might sound like a dumb question but, is there no manual valve right on the tank?
I am not a regulation expert but this does not sound legal to me.

Ours - a Fleetwood product - is located on the tank itself.

The main shut-off valve should be right there on the tank!

Shut off is the star shaped valve just before the regulator. (The grey box covers the regulator)

I believe by law there has to be a shut off at the tank. When the tank is filled the tank is supposed to be shut off. As far as any type of shut off in other locations on the RV I don't believe you'll find one. I've not actually looked at the hot water tank but I don't remember there being a shut-off valve there or at the furnace.

Discovery by Fleetwood used a second propane tank for the lp fueled generator. It was placed between the frame rails of the motorhome and not accessable for filling. They put an electrical valve on the tank so the lp gas man could turn off the tank for filling. I suspect your tank is remote and that is why you have the toggle switches. if so the electric valve will work as well as the manual valve.

the electric valve is just as good as the hand one Ga traveler is right as i am sure your tank may be where you cant get too and some new thing about when LP is on that the inside LP censor / alarm needs to be on as well

moving the system over to electric valve make sure that all of the system must have power to work

In my old 2006 Astoria, the was a black panel in the storage compartment to access the LP tank. It is located between the frame rails.

Propane off valve

Tomorrow I crawl under Our Damon to view the hidden Propane Tank once more. Actually tucked upwards and between the Freightliner Steel Framing now in snow, to see what we can see. The only Valve Visible is just beneath driver side of RV along the outside side edge beneath of the RV. Ive not seen any valve on the current tank.
But will check once again and report back what we find.
Generator is Diesel niot Propane so indicates the manual and Spec Sheet that came with the RV.
There will be pictures tomorrow for more xpert opinions and viewing
STAY TUNED

Tank up under and between the frame rails?!! How does it get filled? Does the gas man have to lay on the ground and crawl under? That does not sound like a propane tank location that I've ever heard of!

Ed G; that is where the tanks on Astoria's are. There is a fill valve on the driver side under the coach. You have to open the compartment door to get to it.

Propane photos damon 2006 astoria/pacific

Here are photos I took today for our Damon 2006
I see "NO" HARD SHUT OFF VALVE for Our 24 GAL Propane Tank.
Only 2 Toggle Lite Switches. 1 in Coach and 1 in Waste Cabinet.
I find One Fill Valve and One LP Relief Valve sitting under RV on driver RV side-by-side.
Seems easy to be damaged hanging beneath the coach ?
I also contacted Rochester Company about the attached Monitor Brochure and they say its a simple "remotly" operated device approx $48.00 retail on eBay easy to install by propane company. ANY COMPANY INTERESTED
I have called and emailed 3 company's with no interest.

I will now contact Damon, if I can find an address or any interest.
ANYONE HAVE A GOOD RELIABLE CONTACT FOR DAMON ?
