TV Changes in our New to us RV

When we picked out our Fleetwood Discovery, we knew that some changes were going to be needed, but felt it was worth it. First changes were the televisions. The previous owner was nice enough to get rid of the old tube TVs that the cabinets were built for, however they did so without altering the cabinets, so it looked incredibly sloppy.

First up was the 27" they had stuck up front. We wanted to go big, so had picked up a 40" LG and had the dealer custom build the cabinet. Here are the before and after pics.





Then we took a 32" LCD panel we had and had the dealer custom build a cabinet in one of our storage drawers underneath.



We are now going to mount the 27" LED that we had up front and put that in the bedroom where it currently has a small 19" LCD.

Lots more changes coming up over the next few days as they are replacing the floors and adding a new backslpash, and we are replacing all the cabinet hardware as well as all the lighting fixtures.

That is sweet. What system do you use to get tv reception and internet.Or please point me in the direction for the difinitive tv and internet thread.

If you use our search feature you'll find a lot of reference material on both... or you can browse our technology forum here Technology: Internet, TV, Satellite, Cell Phones, etc. - iRV2 Forums

I think you'll find that DirecTv is probably a bit more popular than dish and Verizon is the most popular provider of internet service while on the road.

We have Winegard in-motion dome and Dish Network service with the new incoming Hopper DVR. There is a thread I just started on it in the appropriate section of the forum.

Great pics. I just replaced the Tv's in my Rv also. Placed a 32" up front and a 19" for the rear. Just need to add a couple eyebolts and some cable for some extra security as the brackets arnt really made for the shaking they will see.

While I was at it, I also snipped the 12V wire that feeds the TV outlet which kills power when the ignition is on. I suppose a safety feature, although I'm not sure how the driver could ever watch TV that is above them. So at least this way the rest of the family can enjoy a movie during a trip.

Great stuff. I had to go as big as possible up front, because lets face it, what guy wouldnt pay a few hundred dollars more for 6 more inches? I kid of course.
