I am helping a friend with the purchase of a Class A. He wants a MH with two or three slides. He wants two of them to be opposite each other. Living room and what ever is on the other side. My questions are:
1. Does anybody make such a configuration?
2. Which manufacturer?

Hi sCarycary,
In two slide configurations, it will be a coin toss if the slides are opposite each other. However, in a 3 slide configuration all manufacturers make the configuration mentioned by you. The living area has two slides opposite each other. The third slide is in the rear bedroom. This configuration is almost industry standard.

Joy for your friend. Coaches with a full wall slide will have 3 slides, but the full wall slide makes for much more room. Kind of like a 4 slide coach.

If I am understanding your question, I would say most manufacturers make MH with opposite slides. Ours has the L/R and opposite is kitchen. Then a slide for the bedroom. We have a 37' HR. Some MH's have 4 slides.

Our 39K has there slides - in the front living area one on each side close behind the seats. These slides make for lots of living space. The only drawback is the front passenger side slide is a bit to close to the seat. The chair can only recline a little bit when the slide is in. My wife would like the chair to recline a bit more when we travel. There is no solution (except buying a different RV and that is not a possible solution).

My 2011 Serrano 31V has the dinette opposing the couch. These slides start directly behind the passenger and drivers seat. The slide with the dinette goes to the Mid cabin door on the curb side, and the couch slide, which is behind the drivers seat, also has the kitchen within it, which is opposit the entry door. Combined they make the coach about 3.5ft wider. With the ability to turn the front seats around and the location of the dinette and couch make for a very nice seating arrangement and conversation area. Other models of the Serrano have different arrangments, but all have atleast 2 slides.

We have a Georgetown 378 and it was the opposite slides that convinced the DW to go from a fifth wheel to a motorhome. We like this layout very well.

scarycary - almost all makers have opposing slides in the front as an option. Keep in mind that when you do that and have the slides extended you will always have to bend way way over to get into the basement. Not all slides are created equal. Some are short and others long to full wall. And very significantly come are much deeper than others.

Two of my 3 slides are in the bedroom, in what was a sitting area and is now a dog crate area. The third slide is a full wall which contains the dinette and sofa.

Not always. I've seen slides that have the basement storage attached to them so it moves out with the slide.

Our 07 Adventurer has this type on the long drivers side slide. Alot easier getting into them but note these are where you should store the lighter and bulkier items you carry. These comartments have a limited weight capacity.

This is where my hoses, blue boy, grill, chairs, patio mats etc go. The tools and heavier items go in the passenger side which are frame mounted.

On the other note regarding number of slides, ours only has 2, but very long (16-17") slides which oppose at the mid coach area. Offers a large central area. Works great for us.

Having the ability to move from front to back and/ or to prepare lunch while on the road without moving the slides may be one of the things that need to be determined while looking at the coaches. Two opposing slides will offer some advantages while others may not! As mentioned above what and how you store things may and should be considered as well. Slides do offer more room, but they also cause more maintenance.

Our Thor Windsport has that set up. 3 slides, bedroom 1 & 2 up front. Long slide, sofa and dinning table driver side with kitchen slide passanger side. Full open 11'8" would be hard to not heave that set up in another purchase. Our coach is a 2008 on a 2007 F53 model 35B and the 34B are same.

Our Damon Challenger 38' has opposing slides in the living room and a full wall slide on the passenger side. I put the items that I use, ie; grill, ground mat, chairs, etc. in the front passenger compartments, and if I have to get something awkward out of underneath slide on the driver's slide, I simply retract the slide - if not bend over and hit my head!!
