I just had mine inspected at the Valvoline oil center in Rockwall. No emissions on diesel. It's the same as before but no sticker it's just entered into the database. Now I am renewing the license on line. The Escapees also pressured the legislators so now you can renew from out of state without inspection and you have 3 or 5 days I believe when you come back into Texas to get it done. Not sure if it requires a phone call to certify you are out of state or what that entails.

There is no separate inspection sticker in Texas anymore, if you have a valid registration sticker it means that the passing inspection is on file with the state. Here is a web site that explains it all....and allows you to search by vin number to see where you stand: Inspection and Registration -- Together At Last! | Two Steps. One Sticker. Texas DMV

And, yes, trailers over 4500 lbs GVW are now required to pass inspection....makes it a real pain for us ranchers and farmers that have more trailers than we have tow vehicles It appears that keeping inspections current is going to turn into an almost full time job.....out here in the "oil patch" there is usually a several hour wait to get ANYTHING done! Not to mention the boneheads that insist that the coach HAS to have a commercial DOT inspection because it has air brakes....had to drive 120 miles to Lubbock to get it inspected last year

Ok...I feel better now....

@ Lee L... just got my air brake equipped Class A inspected at the same place I have my car done. I ask and they said if it was commercial vehicle they couldn't do it but a personal vehicle they could. $7 and got the document to take to the tax office to get my combo sticker for the year. Hardest part was getting up early to beat the traffic in town for the insp. Also I was told if you have AG tags "farm use" lic. plates you do not need an inspection on the trailer. I got that from a team roper that works with me and he has AG plates on his big living quarter/ horse trailer. Mike

My coach has air brakes and the inspection had nothing to with them. Lights, horn, tires glass etc. Where I go they don't do commercial inspections.
