Uncomfortable drivers seat

My 2017 Vegas has a uncomfortable
drivers seat for me and mama--both of us are rather short legged. I would like to install a power swivel seat that we could adjust-- but after plenty of research and conversation with brad and hall in elkhart --I cannot find a unit that will allow us to accomplish that . we drive from Indiana to Arizona every fall (4 days 8 hours a day) We need to lower the seat and still be adjustable in height for each of us. I have looked at what's on the internet but You only gain one inch less height with the power seat swivel units . Mama wants to keep the matching seat units. The front of seat is 19 inches off the floor now. Any body have a solution with adjustable height--its non-adjustable now.

Change the pedestal.

I believe the pedestals are available in 3 different heights , measure what height you have now.
Yellow arrows for the height , I'll track down the other height measurements.

Maybe a lower pedestal and a power seat will give you all the adjustment you need.

EDIT: Heights are 6.5"/8.5" & 9.5"

If you can not get a solution with a different pedestal, make a carpeted riser for your feet for a more relaxed position. Lowering might change your line of sight more than you want too. My power seat does have a nice vertical range of adjustment. I'm looking for an air suspension seat for an even smoother ride, but having trouble finding one with the shoulder strap built into the back rest.

We changed out the seats in our '97 Type C. Required changing the pedestal to get the correct height. When we went to a Type A MH my late wife's feet wouldn't touch the floor so a friend made a raised footrest for her.

Welcome to iRV2!

You may want to add a signature to your user profile. A signature contains info about your coach (and other things, as you wish), and it added to each post you make. Instructions are here.

Following up on "Skip426's" post, here are direct links to the power seat adjust kit and pedestals at Bradd and Hall. Other vendors sell these units.

Power seat adjust kit
Pedestals

If you add a power kit, you need to replace the existing pedestal with one three inches shorter, according to Bradd and Hall. That is, IF you want to maintain the existing seat height. A call to Bradd and Hall should answer any questions about options.

Integrated seat belt seats, but may not have suspension you want:

~Integrated Seat Belt System (ISS) | Superior Seating, Inc.

Many truck seats offered, including air suspension, but maybe no integrated seat belt seats:

https://www.suburbanseats.com

No recommendation, express or implied, for either supplier, as I have not used either.

Me, I'd like a place within 100 miles of New Hampshire where I could sit on samples of these truck seats. They sound great, but so does Flexsteel's ads for their chairs, and the ones in our coach now are not comfortable.

Thanks, I've been to both sites, They are nice, however, I can not find an ISS seat combined with an air suspension pedestal.

I have air ride seats. A previous owner had them installed and in the process had to remove the integrated shoulder harness seats which included the passenger foot rest seat.

Every manufacturer I have talked to says that since the air ride modules have not been crash tested they will not sell you the module for an integrated seat. Basically they make you a Crash Test Dummy, everyone knows you are better off with a shoulder harness.

I wish I could add shoulder harness to my coach, I just don't know if the current seat mounts would handle that load in a crash. Gulf Stream just mounted the pedestals through the floor OSB and I see no steel to reinforce the mounts. I had to remove my seats and cut the mounts down so We could touch the floor. Every commercial seat mount I could find will not match up to the existing holes in the floor and being OSB I am reluctant to drill more holes. I will probably revisit this next year when I retire and have more time to work on the coach.

I had drivers issues with my last two motorhomes. The 6-way power seat position was too high and too far forward at the max adjustment for me. I removed the seat pedestal and modified it by shorting it 2" and repositioning the seat mount 2" father back. Now the seat adjustment allows me to position it where it is more comfortable.
