Alan, yes on the slide under the couch, except that you can't see that at all. I am leaving the carpet on the slide under the two recliners.

Looks good! Is there any specific reason you aren't removing the carpet on the slide? I've seen several re-models and everybody seems to leave the carpet on the slide floor.

It is possible to add hard surface on a slide, either "flat floor" or raised. There are many mouldings that can be used. Sometimes you have to extend the slide with some new plywood to cover the gap in the floor where the slide rollers or ramps are located.

Really looks good. Who makes the Victoria Cherry and where did you buy it? Looks like a good match to the Coastal Cherry cabinets you have (we have these too).
Thanks

I didn't worry about the carpet on the raised slide as you can't see it. The only carpet left will be under the couch. As for the flush slide it was not dirty or worn and the dogs don't get on it so there was no reason to go to all the work to change it out. I have seen some pictures on the ones Ernie have done and it does look good though.

Bowpulpit, the flooring is made by Shaw and we bought it through a local flooring company. Yes it matches pretty good. We brought several samples from several manufactures and it matched the best. However, we looked at one comapny called Faus floors (you can look them up) and we really liked the Santos Mahogany they had. I actually think it is a better floor and it has the pad already attached. We ordered it from two different places though and it kept getting back ordered so we went a different route.

Shaw has been around for many years. They have bought out many of their competition manufacturers.
