Question Upgrade backup camera system.

My MH is a 2005 Damon Daybreak, it came with a black and white backup camera its old and fuzzy, it sucks. I want to upgrade to a color unit. What would people recommend. Are combo gps and backup systems worth it? What would be a reasonable price for any style of backup camera?

6 years ago I replaced my B/W camera, (which used the 21" 120VAC overhead CRT TV as a monitor), with one of these: PEAK | Back-up Camera - 7 | Electronics | Auto Products ....($80 at Sam's Club).
I don't know anything about combo units... (other than than they are definitely above my pay grade).

I purchased a system like this from this vendor several years ago, and still working good.

7” Rear View Backup Camera System Color Reverse Safety Audio CCD TFT LCD RV | eBay

I've also used some cheap monitors and cameras from ebay for side view that work well also. The connectors on the system linked above are higher quality (screw together type) that the plug and play type in the cheaper systems.

If you're handy and don't mind splicing wires, you can probably re-use the existing cable from the old monitor to the camera and just splice on new connectors.

When I checked out this Country Coach a few weeks ago, when the rig is out in R the camera turns OFF 😡 Friggin lawyers. I'm guessing a wire could be cut too stop this from happening?

Our camera system failed about 2 years ago and it was black and white. I started researching around and found this place: Backup Camera System | Rear View Backup Camera | RearViewSafety.com
Their customer service was great. I had a local shop do the install but if I was a bit younger and more agile I would have done it myself. The system I got is color and the picture is very good. The side camera's have a wider range of view than the old system so you can really see down the side of the motor home.
