Upgrading a Magnetek 6345 option C converter

The option C is supposed to have better battery charging capability than the converter without option C. Does it still make sense to upgrade to a Progressive Dynamics Model PD4646 to replace a Magnetek 6345? It sounds as though it would prolong battery life while being plugged in.

There are several brands of chargers, inverters and inverter/chargers available. Some get better reviews than Magnatek. You may be well served to look around a bit. Personally, I am a big fan of Magnum Industries.
