In 1988 we traded our 26' TT and PU for a Type B MH. In 1997 we went from the Type B MH to a Type C because I liked the more "normal" driving position. In 1998 we went to a Type A MH with a drivers door. In 2000 We went to a 38' Dutch Star DP with a drivers door. In 2002 we went to a 40' Dutch Star without a drivers door. Kept that rig for 13 great years. Last year we traded it for the rig in my sig picture to the left.

We are new to the RV'ing world with our C being our first coach. I really wanted a DP from the beginning but had now clue how much we would use it and didn't want to invest that kind of money to have it sit. With towing a vehicle and more trips already on the agenda, I see this as being a good time to make that jump. It's nice to know that others bounced through a unit or 2 before they found their niche.
Thanks,
Shane

There are quite a few manufacturers that offer the driver's door option. If buying used, you may find one. If buying new, see if you can add it as an option or "Special". I wish our Bay Star had one.

I am not seeing a ton of the better manufacturers having a floor plan with bunks for my kids. I see several in the "entry level" class A's but don't want to go down that road. I also don't want to get into a $350K+ coach. Any suggestions somewhere in between?
Thanks
Shane

Newmar Ventana LE 4042. Should be able to get it under 200k, with some options. Figuring a 28% discount off MSRP, which seems to be the agressive standard.

I have done some research on the Newmar Ventana LE and I am not finding any close to my area. That doesn't mean that there are none here I guess but they don't show that exact model. Does anyone have the 4042 that can talk about there likes and dislikes?
Thanks,
Shane
