We had one of those cheapy ones from Kohls (bout $60). We finally threw it away and took the portable Miele from home. It really sux....... With a Chocolate Lab we get a lotta dog hair and the Miele really does a great job. We have a Royal upright at home but we didnt want to give up storage space for it.

Another vote for the small Dyson "ball" vacuum . We had the full size one that we kept when we sold the house and we down-sized to the smaller one abourt 6 months ago. Couldn't be any happier with it. It is very powerful for its size.

Based upon all your good advice my DW has purchased the Dirt Devil with attachments from Walmart for $50 and has already loaded it into the MH.
