I'm glad that you finally figured out that you do not have a motorhome built by Country Coach of Junction City, Oregon. A very huge difference in the two coaches.

If you would edit your original post title, it would be appreciated by those of us that do own a Country Coach

I had a 1998 Holiday Rambler Endeavor diesel with a 5000 pound hitch. It pulled a car trailer with a 7000 pound tractor on it. Worked good with no problems. Would not recomend going to 7000 again.

Amazing how confusing some of these threads start out. It sure helps to know what the name of your equipment is before starting these things.

It would appear so since it now reads correctly.

For you na sayers, the title was corrected by admin as the system would not let me do it. Now you can find something else to spread your negative vibes.

For the people who provided info into the basic problem, trying to tow a vehicle that the computer says is to heavy for your hitch, thanks.

That is what this site and others is suppose to be but as usual there are negative people with nothing to do but spread negative vibes.

Now negative people you have something else to grip about.

FWIW, those that mis-represent themselves and their equipment are the ones that need correcting.

Calling those that try to correct your erroneous information, "nay*sayers", seems to add to the concept that you are in a world unto yourself...with SELF being the main attraction.

okie143 , to answer your original question, I would base my decision on actual weights not GVWR. Your preferred Toad is close to maxing the 5k hitch load in any event so I would carefully inspect the hitch, welds, and attachment fasteners and make any needed updates.

Frankly I'm embarrassed by the attitude and replies that some members have greeted you with. While I agree that the correct info is necessary to provide accurate answers to a question, at no point did I think you intentionally mis-represented either yourself or your equipment. In fact you listed each component on your coach and a simple Google of the model number, 372DS, reveals a Coachman product. Since you weren't trying to sell the Coach or join the Elite Country Coach fellowship I assumed you had made a honest mistake or were unaware of the details and simply looking for some input to your question.

There are some very good folks on here with valuable information and I hope you give us all another chance. Most importantly, thank you for your service!
