We want to trade our 2001 SeaView for a larger unit. We are considering a 2003 35ft. Mountain Air Gas; a 2003 Coachmen Cross Country Elite diesel 37 ft. We also like the 2006 Monaco Monarch gas 3778. Anyone have experiences, good or bad with any of these coaches? Haven't owned a diesel before, but expect we would be sold on the comfort. Thanks for your help.

Hi Chappie,
I've asked the moderator to put a link to the specific Brand thread in the iRV2 section titled Owner's Corner. This may help gather the maximum responses.

I put shortcuts in the Newmar and Monaco owners sections, so hopefully a Monarch or Mountainaire owner will respond. We don't have a separate Coachman section.

You would like the quieter cabin of a rear engine like the Elite and I would suggest you consider other used Diesel Pushers. There should be other brands in the price range you are looking at. But those are excellent gas rigs you are considering too.

Chappie,
I purchased a new 2006 Monarch a little over two months ago. Only been on several 100 mile weekend trips but it has been great. I love it. A lot quieter and warmer than my former 31' Itasca. The 8.1 power was fine, but keep in mind I'm in flat Florida. Getting 6.5 MPG so far (3600 miles) The side hinged outside storage doors are a plus. I have called monaco several times for info and they have been great to deal with. If I could have cost justified a DP right now, I probably would have leaned that way, but for the next several years here in the flatland, I'm confident the Monarch will more than meet my needs.

Keep on keepin on,
