Used purchase price list

Bought Nov. 2012, from PLL in Houston, TX on consignment from original owner.

1999 Damon Intruder, 47,000 miles asking price if I remember correctly was 20,000. Payed 20k because they had a sale that reduced to price by around 4k, and would not take any offers for less till sale was over. Was afraid it would sell before sale was over. Original sticker price was around 95k (don't have paper work handy)

Caveat was the Ford V-10 had been replaced in 2008 and had 4000 miles on it.

Condition 8, still had sticker in the shower install date in marker, not sure if it was ever used. Needed new tires, and bolts replaced in the ladder. All manuals, a stack of sale brochure for that model, and receipt for new engine replacement, original widow price sticker.

Also it was a 50 amp unit, one of the items on my check list of must haves.

160k is what I would expect a dealer to ask for that coach with a warranty.

I've also noted that lower end coaches like the Discovery I mentioned seem to sell between low and average Nada values, but the higher end you go, the further below low they seem to sell for, the Monaco being a great example at 103.

They can say "Firm" on price all they want, but if I liked the coach, it still wouldn't prevent me from making an offer (with a deposit check) for less if I didn't feel like the asking price was reasonable.

Class A gas, C's, B's, whatever, all are welcome!

I just want to create a list of prices like PPL that shows what the market for used motorhomes is really like.

As a newbie RVer looking to make his first used DP purchase, this information is priceless. It would be nice if we could get this pinned as a sticky but put this in an Excel format similar to what PPL has on their website. It's much more user-friendly and easier to research. Kudos to the OP for starting this thread!

I'm going to try to put together a spreadsheet with the information that we are pulling together and then share it back to the group.
Are there any other fields that should be included?

Year, Manufacturer, Model, Class, Length, Fuel, Engine Size, # of slides, Slide Toppers Y/N, Awning Y/N, Condition, Original Price, Asking Price, Selling Price, Discount from Asking (%)

You MAY want to include some columns for some of the most "popular" options that people get/want, if you're going to the extent of doing a spreadsheet.

Some that come to mind might be:

# of slides
Gas/Diesel
Engine Size
Awning Y/N
Slide Toppers Y/N

I'm sure some of these might not be necessary, or other people might have ideas for other info that might be helpful, or important to the prices.

Adding another field: Age at Purchase.
That's for the motorhome, not the buyer.

Purchase Prices vs Asking Price

RV spreadsheet of prices

The link goes to my Google drive. I've shared a spreadsheet that has the information from this thread as best as I could enter it.
For the conversion of Canadian to U.S. dollars I used .75.

Nice job! Since you've added the columns, I'll add data to the 97 Fleetwood Pace Arrow... LOL:

# slides: 1
Slide Topper: Yes
Awning: Yes, + windows
Condition: 8
Age at purchase: 19 yrs
Original Price: $93,000

This is great.

If the mods can pin this and we keep it going, we'll have a great database of info here.

Moderators? What say you?

Great job. A little more info for the Triple E Commander:

- it is a Class A
- two slides
- with toppers
- and awning
- price paid was 100% of asking (single owner, garage-kept units don't surface often) but owner had just dropped it from $85,000 CAD.

Thanks for the effort. I think new buyers will find this very useful.
