UV rays causing sidewall cracks

Can anyone tell me if UV rays cause sidewall cracks faster in Michelin tires than say BF Goodrich or Goodyear or any other name brand? I suppose it could depending on the composition of the rubber (?). Service guy seemed to thing so.

Michelin has had a history of sidewall cracking as the tire ages. Primarily cosmetic, but not always. I keep hearing that Michelin has changed their rubber compounds to fix that, but I also keep seeing reports of sidewall cracks. Of course, the cracks are in tire that are already some years old...

Most other brands seem to have avoided that problem.
