If you go with Banks system, let us know how it goes. Just read about it & when my V10 gets a little more miles on it, I might be going that way. Its a high cost, but if it does what says it might be worth it. Has anyone done this conversion?

The later V10 exhaust manifolds are pretty efficient, think I would repair the stock setup if it is a gasket leak. Not sure why you have a leak, but when my 8.1 exhaust manifold leaked due to broken studs, I replaced with ARP studs, nuts, washers and bolts. Much stronger and no rust.

I recommend the Banks Power pack very highly. I have installed one on a Chev 454 a Ford 460 and lastly on a V10. The performance on the V10 was amazing and the fuel consumption went from 7 1/2 to 9 on a 96 Gulf Stream Conquest 17,000 lbs. On the V10 we also went with a transmission shift kit. I think you can reclaim the extra cost over new manifolds with in 10,000 miles and you will definitely like the performance. Richard

I just did a right side exhaust manifold on a friend's truck the other day. All in all, it was not difficult to replace. In his the rearmost cylinder was leaking at the flange. We did a new gasket and all (so far!) is good.
It did take some significant work to get the studs out of the outlet flange to down/Y pipe.

If a manifold is cracked then go with Banks, if your budget will allow. Broken stud or gasket leak fix it and leave it stock configuration. At least that's what I would do.

4/5 years old, 36,000 miles doesn't seem like you should have a severe exhaust leak. I think you should find out what's wrong before you decide what to do.

its just the nature of the beast on gas engines. Especially if pulling a toad up grades.. donuts are just not designed to take that heat for that period. Banks is your best hope. They have big flanges and since they are tubes you get some better cooling. The hp increase will make it take less throttle. Also go with a tune.

The exhaust manifold and gaskets are covered by the Ford 5yr/60,000 mile warranty. I would see how that works ☺

It's also covered by the Federal Emissions warranty of 5 years / 50,000 miles. So you can get it fixed for free at any Ford heavy truck dealer.
