Valtera Dump valve

I thought I did good, replacing the black tank valve a few weeks ago , but it leaked some when I removed the cap. I assumed I messed it up somehow. Pulled it today and the blade is not sealing on either side? I can see daylight. What am I missing here? Did i buy the wrong valve, do they make one that lets water pass by??
Usually, the second time I do something I get it correct....
Don

Good one.. Years ago I worked on a Ford Assembly line.. I always said not to buy a Ford built on Saturday night.. I am headed to Camping World now to inspect the valves...

The valves are made that way. Its the rubber seals that seal the valve on the side.. I will reinspect and tighten them down.. Maybe I can break something.
Looks like this post is a big " never-mind"

When I replaced mine, I used vasoline to help hold the seals in place while I slid the valve in.

If they still leak I will try super glue.

Go to Home Depot or other hardware and get and use a tube of plumbers grease. Vaseline (petroleum jelly) can ruin rubber seals
