Professional detailer here. If you want your paint to last, you MUST have some sort of sacrificial layer on it and UV protection. That's what wax is. Waxes last 3-6 months, sealants usually 6-9, and you can have it coated ($$) and it'll last a couple of years for the heavy duty stuff, or about a year for some of the less expensive stuff.

Untreated clear coat will fail faster.

Case in point, the clear coat on the basement of my new-to-me Newmar is about 1/3 failed. I had to sand and respray.

There is a really good product called Optimum No Rinse. Does a very similar function, and way cheaper than $230.

I started using the Wash Wax All this year also. Only paid $30 for the starter kit. I was impressed with how easy it was and how the coach looked after. Time will tell if it holds up. The $230 is a full kit with the extension handle and special end that makes application easier without using a ladder.

I wax. I enjoy the exercise and the coach certainly looks great afterwards. Regardless of opinions on waxing I can't believe anyone wouldn't at least keep the front cap waxed it makes cleaning bugs easier.

MY neighbor owns a high end well regarded Body Shop with more certifications that can fit on the Lobby wall. He advised me to wax my motorhome twice a year and I've seen the Clearcoat failures on many Rv's and cars and trucks.

Do as you wish, believe what you want. I'd like to say I'm keeping up our "investment" [haha] so let's just say I want it to look nice for as long as I can.

I use Turtle Wax Ice car wash, followed by good coat of Protect-All.

Clear coat maybe a wonderful thing. But once that clear coat meets a tree branch or herd of grasshoppers, IMHO any paint needs a little help.
I use a orbital waxer. Microfiber buffing and application pads. The results speak for themselves.
When I can see myself polishing my rig, the Sickens paint reflects the world around me! I get continuous offers of employment (to wax someone elses) all the time. Lots of comments about how good it looks. It's personal gradification for my investment, I know. But it covers allot of sins in scratches.
