Valve Stem Extender Parts

Does anyone know of a place where I can get just the nuts that hold the extender in place at the hub? One of mine ended up getting lost when a tire change took place (Previous owner). I've tried hardware stores, automotive stores and even a truck tire facility and they all look at me as if I had three heads. I've come to the conclusion that the pitch is what is making it different. Hard to believe that the threads on a valve stem and extender are so different but they just seem to be. I've exhausted all my efforts locally so now I'm asking the people I should have started with.

Huh. Interesting. Well, you say you've tried hardware stores but I can say from experience that with this kind of thing you might have to try several HW stores to find one with the kind of nuts you're looking for. Older HW stores like a large ACE usually have the stuff I need. But there have been times when I've searched out a Nuts and Bolts type of company to find stuff. I carry a thread gauge in my tool box for this kind of problem too.

I don't get it. Why are the threads on the extender different than the valve stem threads? The extender should thread on to the valve stem and the cap should thread on to the extender, so everything should be the same thread. I have some locking nuts I bought from Pressure Pro. They are sold to lock the sensors on to prevent theft, but they should work to lock extenders on as well.

Hi, if you can take one off another extender and take it to an ACE hdwre store I'll bet they can match it.

Happy trails
