Valve stems

I just had new tires put on my Pacearrow 37-C. I didn't think about it until I got home. They did not replace the valve stems. They are steel so should they have been be replaced? The tires are Mich 235 80/22.5

My tires were replaced just like yours with no valve stem replacement. However if balancing beads were added inside the tire, valve cores should be replaced with the versions with screens.

Have a nice day - Darrel

The stems themselves shouldn't need replacement but the rubber gasket should have been replaced at the very least.

I had valve stems replaced because of wear on the inner seals. They were leaking so the tire repairman tightened them up causing a greater leak. Lost a tire because of it. So I say, replace them.

No beads, but wish they had been replaced. I think I will leave it alone for a while. Tired of worrying about tires and screwing with them. This will probably come back to bite me in the butt.

I didn't have mine replaced and so far no problems. It's been my experience that tires guys are not shy about suggesting additional ways to throw money their way, so if nothing was said they probably did not need replacing.
