Ventana or Allegro

Are there any Ventana or Allegro owners out there? I have a used Dutch Star that I am thinking about trading in or selling, in order to get a newer coach. I am thinking about the newer Ventana (Newmar) or Allegro or Phaeton (Tiffin). I just want to hear from owners and survey their likes and dislikes or either model. Thanks ahead of time for your advice.

Dutch Star to a Ventana is a downgrade, are you sure you want to do that? We really like our DSDP adn have looked at the Ventana, but still would go with another DSDP, MADP, Essex or King Aire if we buy again.

MR D, I agree, that's why I was asking....Although the new Ventana's have a lot of upgrades that are not on my older DSDP. Such as Comfort drive all tile up front, central vc, better mpg, more slides, etc.

An Older DS to a new Ventana is going to be an upgrade, despite their relative position in the product line.

Are you talking about an Allegro Bus or one of the lower line Allegros such as the Red or Open Road? Quite a difference there! The Bus is a very nice coach. And a Phaeton is probably the equal of a Ventana too.

Gary, I was talking about the Allegro Red. I do like the Phaeton, especially the 36 foot model, but I have not priced it yet. I am concerned that it might be out of my price range.

Please make sure you check the Net Carrying Capacity (NCC) on the coaches you are considering. This is was one factor we considered when making a similar decision last month, we discovered significant differences between all the models you listed. We really liked the styling of the Phaeton. When comparing the Ventana to the Dutch Star-- price both out equally equipped—including any manufacturer rebates. What you get on the DSDP you do not get on the Ventana is the Cummins ISL, Independent Front Suspension and an optional fiberglass roof.
