Very slow slide
Hello everyone
New to forums.
I own a 2005 monaco windsor and the drivers side slide is very slow to open or close. It seems like it is straining. Other slides go twice as fast or better. We just bought this motor coach and would have to travel 450 miles back to dealer. Would like some advice from others who had this problem.

Welcome to iRV2.
Questions.
Is this the biggest slide on your coach ?
Electric or hydraulic operation ?
If electric , could be the slide uses a different gear reduction to aide the motor moving the larger slide.
Hydraulic , heavier rams need more fluid to operate so they move slower too.
My 14' drivers side slide; electric ; moves at a snails pace.

Slides are electric and run off house batteries. Also is deepest slide, same length as passenger slide (kitchen).

Our 2004 Monaco has two slides. The bedroom slide is relatively fast, maybe six or seven seconds to open/close.
However the living room slide takes 20 to 30 seconds to open or close.
Mine are electric.
What time frame are you seeing?

Have you cleaned and lubed the slides? Ours barely moved when we got it. Cleaned and lubed the slides, cables, pullies.... Now smooth and easy.

We have an 04 Beaver which is very similar to the Windsor. The bedroom slide on the driver's slide is electric and goes out at a snails pace and seems to take forever, while the other slides are hydraulic and go out much faster. If you are having a slow slide on the drivers side front, you may have a problem.

Is the motorhome's engine running while you operate the slide? That would provide more voltage to the pump motor (assuming your slide is hydraulic).
Are the jacks deployed before you engage the slide? Level is good.

Thanks everyone for responding.
i used dry silicone on the rails which really had no friction that i could see. Since this coach has two heavy reclining leather on this slide, moved the two chair and it seems to move in and out better. This slide has two plastic beveled plates below to raise above carpet to move slide in. It seems like once it rides on the carpet that is where the friction is. Also it's a MONACO can't use altenator when engine is running MONACOS safety feature, uses house batteries. when slide is in, the top is nice and snug, but bottom corners there is a 3/8" space difference when closed. Dont know if that is a concern for alignment.
Sunday my wife and i are setting up for one day to test and get used to all the systems and i will time the slide.
