Viair air compressor & chassis batteries
I’ve been using the Viair 40047 air compressor for a few years to keep my DP tires at the right pressure. I’ve always hooked it up to the toad battery with the toad engine running. Is it ok to hook it up to the chassis or house batteries while connected to 50 amp shore power?

Well Sir,
Without going into a long dissertation about how motorhome battery charging systems work, yes, it would be ok for you to use either set, house or chassis. First off, I'm presuming you're only "topping" off the M/H tires, not filling them from ZERO pressure to 120 psi, correct? And that means, you're running that little compressor for only a few minutes per tire. And, unless you've got leaks in all 6 or 8 tires, you shouldn't need that compressor on an every day basis, correct?
So, you'll be fine.

I’ve used the house batteries, chassis batteries, and toad batteries. Coach was hooked and unhooked to the pole. Toad was always off.
You’ll be fine.

Just topping them off. No more than 5 lbs on any tire. When we left on this trip, it was 90+ degrees when I topped them off last. Much colder here on the east coast and will be until we return to SoCal next month. The cold has dropped the pressure. Waiting for the tires to get over 50 degrees before I add air today.

Yep, no problem with any of the methods although the towed battery would be my last choice.
