VIN number

I have a 1987 Georgie Boy Encounter

Where might I find the VIN number on the vehicle as there's a problem with the motorhome stats.
I'm under the impression that it has a Ford big block motor and the VIN indicates a Chevy.
I would like to compare the one on the reg. and title with what is on the motorhome.
Thanks in advance for any help.

vin is usually on the wall next to the drivers seat. easy to tell between a ford or chevy, the distributer will be in the front of the engine on a ford, the rear if it's a chevy.

VIN number

Thanks so much as you've answered both questions and hit the nail on the head.
This is indeed a Ford as the distributor is on the front of the engine( sitting in the drivers seat ). I've seen the mfg. tag with the VIN.
