Voltage reading on the dash

I have a 2006 Zephyr with a 500 Cummins engine. The more RPMS the motor turns my volt meter will go to 12. It seems the less RPMS my motor turns the volt meter will go to 13 or 14 volts. I called Spartan the man said that was o k. I had my alternator rebuilt though and it does the same. I this normal? Thanks

First off, welcome to the forum!

Here you will have access to many different viewpoints and information about all things RV. I think your question is why does my volt meter drop from 13-14 volts at low rpm to 12 volts at high rpm?

Personally, I have not noticed this, but I'm sure someone will comment...

I agree. Sounds like a slipping belt. The Leece Nevelle 160 amp alternator puts out around 13.6 to 14 volts. Either the serpentine belt is glazed and worn or the tensioner is weak and needs to be changed.

Welcome and your service advisor needs to be fired. Grab a voltmeter and measure directly across your batteries to confirm you dash meter is working correctly.
