Wallpaper

Has anyone used big box store wallpaper to remodel the interior of a MH? My DW want to put the fancy textured paper in the living and kitchen areas. I did a Search but did not get any real info. I don't want to go thru all the labor of installation just to have it peel off in a year!!

I removed and replaced the belt line border trim in our RV 2 years ago and it's still stuck on. Just make sure you clean the surface and remove any dirt and grease. Use vinyl paste, don't rely on the pre-pasted paper.

You can use any wallpaper that is good for use in high humidity and temperatures, e.g. kitchen and bath application in a stickhouse. And a corresponding adhesive. Generally those will be vinyl wallcoverings with a vinyl specific adhesive, but check the packaging for applications and recommended adhesive (wallpaper paste).

Beyond that, it's a question of the quality of your prep work and the type & condition of the existing surface. It's probably wise to prime first if they are slick, mildewed, greasy, etc. After a good cleaning, of course.

The reason I suggested vinyl paste is that you're attaching the new paper to a vinyl surface regardless of what your new paper is. You can buy your wall covering at a big box store but if you go to a wall paper store you'll get the best advice on what products to use to make it as good a job as possible.

Ok thanks for the info. I guess I'm just worried about the wall flexing and the paper breaking loose.
