Warning Lights Problems

The DW and I are planning a vacation to Oregon from July 5-14 . In preparing for the trip we decided to get a new radio and speakers. Our 2004 Newmar Dutchstar still had the original radio in it. The new unit looks and sounds great. It comes equipped with IPOD capabilities, DVD, Sirius XM, Bluetooth.
The problem started when I put the key in and turned it. It went thru self check sequence. Once that's done two warning lights come on - check engine and stop engine lights come on with a solid audible alarm and on the mileage display it says Stop Engine but the engine is not running. Once I start the engine all lights and alarm go away and the unit runs great. All gauges are well within their normal range. I've never had this problem before and I have followed all the manufacturer's recommended servicing.
My questions are:
Could anything in the after market radio installation process have caused this issue? Is it possible that some reprogramming needs to be done?
Why would the Stop Engine come on when the engine is not running?
Should I be concerned with driving it before I get it checked? Will it do more damage?
Has anyone experienced this problem after radio installation or any other time? If so what was the cause?
Thank you for any help you can give!

If you installed the radio, did you use the same power source that the previous radio used? It probably has a full time 12v (+) source for clock and preset memory, then a switched 12v (+) to turn on/off with the ignition.
One check you could try, usually newer radio models have all the wires for power and speakers incorporated in one multi terminal plug. Pull the plug on the back of the radio and try starting sequence. See if it still has the warning lights and buzzer. If you didn't install it and pulling the radio plug solves it, take it back to the shop that installed the radio. If you installed it, check that your power connections are the same as the old radio.
