Warranty on diesel pusher with 107,000 miles
Does anyone know of a warranty company that will cover the drive train on a diesel pusher with over 100,000 mile? My warranty is about to expire on my Newmar Kountry Star and my warranty company won't include the drivetrain in my extension.

Having just gone through this I will tell you that mileage plays a smaller roll than chronological age when it comes to extended warranties. I found that once the coach reaches 13 years old, there are few if any warranty companies that will take the gamble. Our coach is 10 years old with 52K miles and I was only able to qualify for a 3 year/36K mileage extended warranty. I tried 3 different companies and the answer was pretty much the same with all 3. The agent flat out told me that after 3 more years, I'd be on my own and self insured.

Most companies won't warranty over 70k miles unless you own the coach prior to that, and then top out at 100k permanently. Consider banking the money you would pay for the warranty for future repairs and you will be money ahead!

I used to think that too. Then we had major engine problems. Now we can't afford the service policy!

Good Sam ESC will extend an existing service contract on a MH to 18 yrs old. I just extended mine. They do not write contracts on high-mileage MH's such as the OP's though.

My understanding of Good sam is 150,000k miles or 15 years which is slightly different than the number stated above. The call to them is free...nothing to lose. I got my policy when I had 63k miles (Coach was new to me at that time. If you do it, get the seals and gaskets add on...not that much more and my only claim (water pump failure) would not have been covered without it.

I think at GS you can get up to 3 years of coverage starting at age 15, so you would have coverage up to 18 years old. I don't think they will write a new policy after 15 years or 150k miles, though. I haven't checked recently, so this may be out of date.

Unfortunately if your mileage is higher than you can find a insurer to write a warranty policy on, your only options as far as I can see are:
1) Sell the coach and buy one with less age/mileage.
2) Do as I suggested, and put away money in a rainy day/broken coach fund or
3) Don't put money away and have a credit card with a LARGE credit limit (like 20k) for that catastrophic failure!

 The gaskets ans seals rider is vital IMO. If you do not have this rider and a transmission seal leaks while driving, causing the transmission to fail, the transmission is not covered, same scenario for the engine. It's called consequential damage.

warranty
Thanks to all for the input. As I expected, not good news. I will keep looking and may extend my current warranty on all but the drivetrain.
I don't like that alternative but not in the market for a nr MH.
