Washer & Dishwasher
I know this is a stupid question - but can I run the dishwasher or clothes washer while driving down the road?

Yes. You will probably need the generator on and the water pump, however, that is not abnormal.

Just make sure your gray tank is empty before you pull out.

I run my Fisher-Paykel DishDrawer when going down the road, but Splendide says not to do that with their washer/dryer because the drum is suspended on springs which can be adversely affected by the motions going down the road.

Agree! Running the washer/dryer while moving is a big NO NO!

Our washer and dryer are Whirlpool ... but, figure, I'll just wait until I get to where I'm going instead of taking any chances. Thanks, for the replies.

That may not apply to yours. I should have said "if you have a Splendide" W/D!

i would not want to be driving down the road when the washer went on spin cycle. It can be felt enough in our 5er when its sitting still. I'm sure it would cause damage to the coach and unit if you were using it while driving down the road. Dishwasher should be no problem. You will need it plugged into a convertor outlet or you will need to run the gen set while you drive. I could not pass up the similarities between DW and dishwasher. Just saying lol

I don't see anything in the Splendide manuals that prohibits operating the washer while the vehicle in motion. They do say that you should install it over the axle (mid-ship in boats) where the movement is at a minimum, and that you should block the machine to prevent extreme movement. They sell installation brackets to firmly anchor the machine to the vehicle. Like us, the previous owners of our motorhome traveled with their children, which pretty much requires daily laundry in these tiny machines. They washed and dried clothes while driving, and we intend to do the same.
I see a lot of motorhomes with laundry units at the rear instead of over the axle. Some of them. Use standard residential appliances. Doing laundry while the vehicle is in motion may be a bigger deal in this situation, but I am only guessing.
