I have a model A Motorhome and looking for for feedback on the best type and size wast tote for weekends with no sewer hookup.

That would depend on how often you are willing to make a trip to the dump station. If you are conservitive with your water useage, a 12 or 18 gal. may be just fine

I use an 18 gallon tote in these situations and just plan to dump once a day regardless. One of your considerations needs to be Weight. At 8.3 p/g that tote gets heavy quickly. Many sites will require pulling those small wheels through soft dirt, sand or gravel.

Our Class has a 41 gallon black tank and a 41 gallon grey tank. With 3 adults and 2 kids we can last 5 to 7 days before needing to dump the tanks.

What size are your black and grey tanks?

Our 2001 Alpine (Class A) has a 100 gal fresh, 100 gal grey and 78 gal black. The 34 ft Alpines are a little smaller. Newer Alpines even had larger tanks. Unfortunately they did go out of business.

Wow. Those are some big waste tanks. I have a 2001 diplomat DP has 100 gal fresh water. 60 gal gray. 40 gal waste. I wish I had yours. It would last for weeks.

For just weekends do not even need a tote. Just use the dump ststion on the way out if the campground.

What size motorhome, number of people and what size tanks on the coach? My wife and I can easily go 3 or 4 days on our gray water tank. The back tank is generally not an issue.

For a weekend, perhaps you need to institute water conversation programs.

We usually go 4 or 5 days before needing to dump with 2 adults. Black tank fills first for us. Showering will fill the grey tank fast - so use the CG shower. Water conservation - use paper plates and such to minimize dish washing. We never run out of fresh water before the waste tanks are filled.

Suggest to try it for a weekend and see how it goes. YMMV.

We also have an Alpine. If not using W/D we can go at least 12 days if being frugal with showers. So we don't bother with a blue tank.

I am in the same position. Our friends and my wife has outvoted me as to what campground to us when we visit them. My black tank is 28 gallons and the two gray tanks total to 58 gallons. We usually (DW & myself) can go 3-4 days before I dump at the 2/3 full point. I also plan on changing out the tires to pneumatic ones. The dump station is about 200 yards or so away, so will use my truck to pull it. I plan on getting either a 30 or 32 gallon depending on what wheel configuration I get, but have not decided yet. It seems that Barker (Blue Boy) is the one most recommended.

I didn't know that the Model A had enough horse power, but I suppose it's better than a Model T due to the T's backing problem.

I bought a tote that was bigger than my black tank. That seemed a 'safe' guideline if you know what I mean.

I heard stories of overflowing the tote. Yuck.
