Hello,

Before tearing apart can you advise on how to get to the waste valves on a 1998 Beaver Contessa Viano 40' from the attached picture.

I assume you have to take the whole cover and all knobs off to make this repair correct?

I just did a valve replacement on my 2000 Beaver Patriot Thunder. The water valve panel looks about the same. Remove the screws holding the white panel in place; remove the plastic handles of the waste valves. You will now be able to pull the white panel towards you. All the other items are attached to the back and will move with it. You probably will want to disconnect the San-T-Flush hose from the back, but I didn't have to remove anything else. I was able to leave everything else connected and still was able to pull it far enough forward obtain access behind it.

My valve assembly is shown in the following picture (ignore the arrow showing the broken flange). In my case I had to remove the "Y" manifold that holds both valves. If you can just replace the valves you will be much better off.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I managed to do the complete job including the replacement of the manifold in one (long) day.

I did and nothing was specific to this setup it was all 5th wheels and class A's with wide open box compartment.

By the looks of your pic, the answer I would have is.... yes.

It has to come apart, unless there is a panel underneath that would gain you access.

Good luck; it's not fun but it is doable. A couple of the bolts holding the valves in place are a bit hard to get to.

Might need to disconnect the pipes behind the shower, the city water inlet and the black flush inlet so you can fully remove the front panel to make better access to the black and grey valves.

You also have to spring the two flanges apart about 1/4" so the recessed rubber sealing gasket clears the flanges so you can slide the valves out - so if the outlet pipe is well sealed where it passes through the floor, you might have to remove the sealant to allow a bit more movement.

(Empty both tanks with the MH jacked up on the opposite side and then jack the other way - or run up on blocks - so you will have a dry work space)

Thanks everyone I had the front panel off in about 10 minutes and on my way all good tips to make this go smoother. appreciate all the quick feedback, will be back at it tonight, 114 in Phoenix so makes it tough to want to be out there too long
