Water coming out of city connection

Hi all,
Just recently we have had water starting to "dribble" out of the city water connection (no hose connected) when we run the pump... I have looked and there is nothing to prevent this as far as the plumbing, except the brass connection at the outer wall for the city water hose to connect to. Would this be a check valve ? Seems like it would have to be... Idea's ??? Thanks ! Darel

The city water connection more than likely has a back flow preventer. I just had to replace mine and it did. Shouldn't cost much at all.

Sounds like the check has some foreign material in it. Where you normally attach the freshwater hose you can take a pen and depress the valve and see if you can get it to reset or hook up the freshwater hose and try flushing it out.

One think to have in the toolbox is a Garden Hose Shutoff just incase you ever have a problem in the future.

Good luck.

watch out for the water that will come back out at you when you press the plunger with the pump on. also works with antifreeze. dont ask...
