Water Heater AC Switch - 03 Journey

I can't find a switch to turn the AC power on to the heating element in the hot water tank. I just bought this unit and I can easily find the LP gas switch and water pump switch. The dealer tells me there should be a switch for the AC heating element but I can't find one. the Htr model # is GCH10A-3E from Atwood. Anybody know if it has a switch somewhere in the unit or if it automatically detects the electric service and defaults to it before the LP? Thanks.

On my 05 Itasca Meridian, the switch is in the hallway just above head height. There is an engine heater switch and just below that, the water heater switch. There is a red light in the switch when turned on. I would say there is definitely a switch in your motor home; doesn't your owner's manual show where it is? You can go online with Winnebago and find it also. Good Luck

Try Winnebago Industries and check out the "resources" tab then manuals, etc, etc to find the electrical drawing for your unit. It should help you locate the switch or at least get you close.
Also, look at your AC distribution panel and verify there is a WH breaker. It should be on it's own dedicated breaker. If no breaker then maybe no electric WH.
In our coach it is inside a cabinet over the dining table........seems like an odd place but that's where it is. It looks like a run-of-the-mill house type on-off switch.

I found the switch

JBroadway - you were right. I looked in the manual and sure enough the switch is beside the fuses behind door below the refrigerator. Thanks. I really like this forum.

I just had my electric element replaced in my Atwood heater by Camping Connection who just opened a shop here in Myrtle Beach. Camping Connection provided vendor services for the 10th Anniversary Reunion Rally.

The mobile tech that fixed my heater is both a Master RV Tech and a State of South Carolina Trooper.
