You replaced the valve and solved the problem. Good for you. I have seen less conversation caused by buying tires than this simple little valve.

That's what is so nice about IRV2. I wasn't sure if it was a major problem, or just a minor inconvenience. I went from knowing nothing about RV water heaters, to a quasi-expert (?). I was able to replace the part for $12.00 at the park, as opposed to going without hot water for the three remaining days, and then taking it to an RV place, which would have cost $100 -$150. I owe each responder a cocktail if we ever meet up on the road.

You are correct about the forum being a good resource. Happy to hear that you were able to fix easily. About that cocktail; we are presently in Maine enjoying 70 degree sunny weather, so a road trip may be in order for you all!
