Water in awning

Just returned from a week trip away from the MH and rolled the awning out and it was full of water. Not sure if it was rain or condensation from the a/c. Is there a way to install gutters along the channel where the awning mounts. I have leveled the motorhome and made the awning side a
little higher. I see gutters for windows and doors but didn't see any kits for slides or awnings. Are there such things and how do you mount them?

You can buy flexible gutter in various lenghts and colors. It has an adhesive back, easy to use and will do the trick.

I see no way a awning can get full of water closed if I'm reading right.

All I can say, is I rolled it out and water poured off the edge. Could have been trapped on top or in the awning. Just reporting what happened and my idea as to the cause and asking for ideas..

Hi pddgm,
It matters not if the water arrived by rain or the HVAC system. Depending on the brand of awning (like A&E) one will have water after rain. The metal shield is great for many kinds of protection. Rain is not one of them.

Every awning I have ever owned, patio or window collected water. It hasn't hurt anything as I roll them out often. Before I started doing this, awning was always dirty the first couple of wraps from the coach.

I have water in my awnings on both the motor home and Travel Trailer. Any time I am driving in the rain the water gets in the front end of the rolled up awning and if parked and a driving rain comes in at the right angle, more water in the awning. I just accept it as normal and prepare to duck and cover when rolling out the awning after the rain.
