Standard RV pump discharge pressure is 45 psi
Upgraded RV pump discharge pressures is 55 psi and even 65 psi

PEX has - standard rating 100 psi @ 180F & 160 psi @ 73F

Water heater T&P Relief Valve (Temperature and Pressure)......set to OPEN at 210*F and 150 psi

My WATTS adjustable water pressure regulator has been set and used for 10 yrs at 50 psi (Static)

Your acquaintance is mistaken on the pressure issue. As for the 'nuts' issue that is between you and your acquaintance

Yes it was, 'tis true. But I'll tell you something-- I read this forum regularly and often, and it seems to me there are a lot more 13s, 14s, and 15s discussing problems than those 10-15 years older. Just my observation...

PEX pipe is tested for max pressure @ 120 psi so you friend is wrong. Rule of thumb is 60 - 65 lbs max.

I have mine set at 40 .... pressure doesn't make a lot of difference it's gph (gallons per hour) that matters. Just make sure you get a nice high flow regulator and you won't be able to tell between 40 and 60 or 70 or 80 psi (I can't).

Given that your coach water pump is factory set at 45 psi, I think you can feel comfortable with that. RVs built in the last 18-20 years are pressure tested to 85 or better (RVIA has a test spec). Back in the day it was more like 65 psi, which is why you still hear "old wives tales" about only allowing very low pressure.

Never had much luck using a pressure regulator, made pressure to low, so never use one and never had a problem.

007 buy a hi flow reg. They work great. I've seen 80-90 psi in some parks. That's bad for the plumbing in your rig.

As I remember my watts unit is set for 45 psi. I could use a little more pressure through it though as there is more pressure when the pump is on.

The campground I am now has 90psi water pressure. I test the pressure with a gauge before hooking watts adjustable pressure regulator and water hose. I set the watts to 55psi .

Something worth pondering -

The pop off valve in RV water heaters is designed to release pressure at 150psi (or so). Logically, the coach manf's are not going to want that hot water venting inside a coach due to a ruptured line/fitting, so they had better build the water system to hold to AT LEAST that pressure.

Sound far fetched? How many of us have seen that valve weeping as the water warmed up during the water heater's first cycle? I think it pretty safe to say the system's pressure at that point is well in excess of 100psi?

That thought in mind, 65psi. seems like childs play....
